Ingredients

Spiced Syrup

  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 whole allspice berries
  • 2 whole star anise

Spiced Espresso Martini

  • 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) vodka
  • 1 oz (30 ml) coffee liqueur
  • 2 teaspoons Javy Coffee Concentrate
  • 2 oz (15 ml) spiced syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Coffee beans or a cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Start by making the spiced syrup. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, and star anise. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved, and the syrup takes on a rich, spiced flavor. Remove from heat, strain, and allow the syrup to cool.
  2. Once the spiced syrup is ready, fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  3. Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, Javy Coffee Concentrate, and the 1/2 oz (15 ml) of spiced syrup to the shaker.
  4. Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled
  5. Strain the contents of the shaker into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
  6. If desired, garnish with a couple of coffee beans or a cinnamon stick.
